Objective and Scope of the Book

Springer’s International Handbook on Business Process Management intends to present a comprehensive picture on the contemporary state-of-the-art in BPM. It brings together global BPM thought leaders from both academia and practice. In order to set a framework, a Delphi study has been conducted in conjunction with global experts in the field. The study reveals major factors of BPM we use as chapters of the handbook. The resulting structure of the book is given in the following figure and is further illustrated by selective topics of interest for each chapter.

In each chapter, theoretical work will be replenished with practical cases, demonstrating experiences of world leading companies. In the following, a brief introduction into each chapter is given. In addition, recommended topics are presented.
